Q. Are the children well supervised?

A. Yes. The Full-time Staff head up each of the different areas, and a team of Voluntary Staff assist. Each accommodation group (usually a group of about 8) has its own trained Leader. In addition to this there are Voluntary Staff in the Horse, Kitchen and Program areas. During School Camps the Teachers supervise the behaviour of Students.

Q. How can I join Voluntary Staff?

A. In order to be on the Voluntary Staff you must be 15 years of age or older. You also must be a Christian. Usually you will have been on Camp and indicated to your Leader that you want to be on the Voluntary Staff. The Ranch has an annual MVR Essentials Staff Training on the March long weekend. You must attend this before coming on staff, as well as providing references and being prepared to have background checks carried out.

After attending an MVR Essentials Staff Training, you will be able to work as part of the Kitchen Staff. When you have worked in this area of staff and displayed responsibility, you may continue with your training and become a Leader or member of Horse Staff.

Q. What is the food like?

A. Kids love it! (And so do the adults). We understand how to serve what they like and still provide a healthy balanced menu. Meals are served in a restaurant-quality Dining Hall (The Stagecoach Inn) and Ranchers (campers) are not required to perform any kitchen duties.

I would like to come to Australia and to work at your camp. Is this possible? Do you pay a salary? What work would I be doing?

A. Most of our overseas visitors are Voluntary Staff from other Christian Camps. We need to know a lot more about you before we can begin to answer your question. What Camp/s have you worked at? In what capacity? How old are you? Are you male or female?

Are you a Christian? What is your Church Involvement? What qualifications do you have ... AHSE, lifesaving, other? How long were you thinking of coming for? When were you thinking of coming? Can you supply references from your Pastor, Camp Manager etc? A little bit of background helps us see where you may best fit, until we know this we can't say what work you will be doing. We will also need to do background checks etc. before we can give you a definite answer. If you do come, we provide accommodation while you are here and meals while camps are in. You would need resources for personal items and any travel etc. We do not pay salary as you would be considered part of our Voluntary Staff Team. All our overseas visitors sort out their own visas and travel arrangements. Best Wishes.
